Information You Share with Us:
Profile Info: When you sign up using Google Sign-In (via Google OAuth), we collect your Google user ID, full name, email address, and profile picture to create your account.
Learning Preferences: During onboarding, we ask for your grade level (e.g., Grade 9, College/University) and subjects (e.g., Maths, Science) to tailor the app’s AI responses to your needs.
Chat History: Any questions or messages you send in the Learn tab (e.g., text queries or images you upload for AI explanation) are stored so you can revisit them in the History tab.
Images: If you upload images (e.g., a photo of a math problem) via the Learn tab, we collect those images to process them with our AI.
Information We Collect Automatically:
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our services
Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the app, including the features you use, the time spent in the app, and app installation attribution data to understand how you discovered our app.
User-Provided Information: When you use features like scanning images for text extraction, we may send the scanned images to third-party services (e.g., Google Cloud Vision API) for processing. We also collect information you provide, such as your grade level, user ID, and chat messages, to personalize your experience.
Device Info: We use Kochava, a third-party analytics and attribution service, to collect device identifiers such as the Google Play Ads Identifier (ADID) on Android devices and, with your consent, the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iOS devices. We also collect information about your device, such as the device model, operating system version, and app usage data (e.g., session activity).
Local Storage:
We use your device’s local storage (via AsyncStorage) to save some data, like your user ID, grade, subjects, and chat history, so the app can work offline and load faster next time.
Subscription Data:
When you purchase a subscription through Google Play, we collect purchase history data (e.g., subscription plan, purchase date, and transaction ID) to manage your subscription status. This data is stored securely on our servers and is not shared with third parties except as necessary to provide the service (e.g., with our payment processor, RevenueCat).
How Do We Use Your Information?
We use the information we collect to make CocoTrain.AI a better learning tool for you. Here’s how:
Personalized Learning: Your grade, subjects, and chat history help our AI provide responses that match your academic level and learning goals. For example, if you’re in Grade 9 and studying Maths, the AI will tailor its explanations accordingly.
AI-Powered Explanations: When you send a query (text or image), we use it to generate context-specific answers via our AI engine. Uploaded images (e.g., a photo of a physics problem) are processed to provide detailed explanations.
Account Management: Your Google Sign-In data (user ID, name, email, profile picture) is used to create and manage your account, letting you sign in seamlessly and access your history across devices.
App Improvement: We analyze usage data (e.g., how often you use the Learn tab) to improve the app’s features, fix bugs, and make it more user-friendly.
Support: If you report a problem via the Profile tab, we use the information you provide (e.g., your message and user ID) to respond and resolve your issue.
Analytics and Attribution: Kochava helps us understand how users interact with our app, track app installs, and attribute installs to marketing campaigns. This allows us to improve the app’s performance and user experience.
Third-Party Processing: Scanned images are sent to Google Cloud Vision API for text extraction to enable features like question scanning. The extracted text is then used to provide answers via our backend services.
How Do We Protect Your Information?
Your privacy matters to us, and we take steps to keep your data safe:
Secure Storage: Your data (like user ID, grade, subjects, chat history, and images) is stored securely on our servers at cocotrainai.pro. We use encryption to protect it during transmission and at rest.
Minimal Collection: We only collect what we need to make the app work for you. For example, we don’t track your location, browsing history, or anything unrelated to your learning experience.
Local Storage: Some data (like your user ID and chat history) is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data is only accessible to the app and isn’t shared with anyone else.
Access Control: We limit access to your data to a small team of trusted staff who need it to operate the app, troubleshoot issues, or respond to your support requests.
Do We Share Your Information?
We don’t sell your personal information to anyone—period. We only share your data in very specific cases:
With Google (for Sign-In): When you sign in with Google OAuth, we share your authentication request with Google to verify your identity and retrieve your user ID, name, email, and profile picture. Google’s privacy practices apply to this process (you can read more in their Privacy Policy).
Service Providers: We work with trusted partners (e.g., cloud hosting providers) to run the app’s servers and store your data. These partners are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and can only use your data to provide services for CocoTrain.AI.
With Third-Party Service Providers: We share device identifiers and usage data with Kochava for analytics and attribution purposes. Scanned images are shared with Google Cloud Vision API for text extraction. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
Legal Requirements: If we’re required by law (e.g., a court order) or to protect the safety of our users, we may share your data to comply with legal processes.
Your Rights and Choices
You’re in control of your data, and we want to make sure you can exercise your rights:
Access Your Data: You can see most of your data directly in the app (e.g., your profile info in the Profile tab, chat history in the History tab).
Delete Your Data: If you want us to delete your data, you can sign out (via the Profile tab), which clears local data from your device. To fully delete your account and server-side data (e.g., chat history, images), email us at [email protected] with your user ID, and we’ll handle it within 30 days.
Opt-Out: You can stop data collection by uninstalling the app. Once uninstalled, we won’t collect any new data from you.

What About Cookies or Tracking?
CocoTrain.AI uses a third-party tracking tools (like Firebase, or Kochava). We only collect usage data directly related to your interactions with the app, and we anonymize it whenever possible to protect your privacy.
How Long Do We Keep Your Data?
We keep your data for as long as you use the app to provide a seamless experience (e.g., saving your chat history so you can revisit it). If you delete your account or uninstall the app, we’ll remove your server-side data (like chat history and images) within 30 days. Local data on your device (via AsyncStorage) is cleared when you sign out or uninstall the app.
App Tracking Transparency (iOS Users)
On iOS devices running iOS 14.5 or later, we may request your permission to track your activity across apps and websites owned by other companies using the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA). This tracking is facilitated by Kochava to provide analytics and attribution services. You can grant or deny permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you deny permission, we will not collect or share the IDFA, but we may still collect other non-identifiable usage data as described in this policy.
Children’s Privacy
